Amber Marie Savoie (she/her) is a multidisciplinary folk artist with a BFA in Photography from Emily Carr University of Art and Design. She has been living as a settler on unceded Lekwungen territory (Victoria, BC) for the past seven years, creating mixed-media drawings and paintings that explore the nature of soul and consciousness. Amber is interested in the bleeding edges of archetypal experience; how symbols and subjects such as butterflies and vases can hold universal resonance, and personal significance at the same time. Her art practice and contemplations are largely informed by the writings of psychoanalyst Carl Jung, and her own formative experiences with paganism and animistic philosophy. Plants, animals, feminine beings, and decorative objects are all vessels for sentience in Amber’s world, brought to life by use of ink pens, oil paints, pastels, beads, and whatever other mediums she finds fitting to portray soulfulness.

In addition to her creative practice, Amber offers pragmatic tarot readings informed by Jungian psychology and the western esoteric tradition. You can often find her reading cards at local markets in Victoria, and at Cream Life & Style for evening appointments.
